02 On-site observation: rough stone market pattern and highlights of the exhibition area

The exhibition has a number of themed exhibition areas, focusing on the display and trading of gem raw materials.Among them, the Hall of Fine Diamonds brings together white diamonds, colored diamonds and large carat diamonds. It is the core area for the trading of natural diamonds and cultivated diamond blanks; the Treasures of Nature exhibition area focuses on rubies, emeralds, sapphires, jadeites and other colored gemstones; the Treasures of Ocean exhibition area focuses on pearl display.

The participating countries cover Germany, Italy, Colombia, India, Thailand and other traditional jewelry towns.

The scale of participation of the Indian pavilion and Indian buyers at this exhibition has significantly expanded. As the world’s largest diamond cutting and polishing industry cluster, buyers in Surat and Mumbai have shown great concern about the supply stability and price transparency of high-quality cultivated diamond blanks.

The exhibition will hold more than 20 seminars at the same time, covering topics such as market trend analysis, traceability of origin, and sustainable development, and provide a platform for exchanges and learning for all parties in the industry. In addition, Business Matching activities (Business Matching) and online exchange cocktail parties have established efficient docking channels for both supply and demand.

03 Cultivating diamond blanks: the core procurement trend of Indian cutting mills

Judging from the overall atmosphere of this exhibition, Lab-Grown Diamond (LGD for short) has evolved from an ”emerging category” in the early years to a mainstream trading object that cannot be ignored. The following are the key market signals collected by our company during the exhibition:

Trend dimensionObservation conclusion
Blank quality requirementsThe color grade (D–H color system) and clarity (VS and above) requirements of CVD and HPHT blanks in Indian cutting mills continue to increase, and the premium for high-quality blanks is significant.
Carat specification preferenceThe demand for blanks in the range of 0.3ct to 2ct is the strongest, and high-quality blanks above 1ct are in short supply.
Supply chain stabilityCutting mills tend to establish long-term agreements with blank producers with stable production capacity, rather than relying on spot purchases.
Price transparencyBuyers have clear requirements for the transparency of the pricing mechanism and batch consistency.

As one of the most important trading nodes for gem raw materials in the world, the Hong Kong Jewelry Fair gathers a large number of professional buyers from Surat, Mumbai and other cutting centers every year.By participating in this exhibition, our company further confirmed the strong market demand for high-quality cultivated diamond blanks, and laid the foundation for subsequent in-depth cooperation with Indian customers

This EXHIBITION continues HKTDC’s EXHIBITION + ONLINE and OFFLINE integration model.On-site buyers can scan the QR code of exhibitors through the ”Scan2Match” function of the HKTDC Marketplace App to continue online negotiations during and after the exhibition; the AI-driven ”Click2Match” system intelligently pushes supply and demand matching.

In addition,hktdc.com The Sourcing platform extends the procurement window of the exhibition from February 2 to April 1, greatly expanding the timeliness value of the exhibition.Even buyers who are unable to visit the site can establish contact with exhibitors on this platform, which fully reduces geographical and time constraints.
